22,000 persons and with the vast majority of us living on
the County's southern border in the communities of Alto,
Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs, we sure offer up quite a bit

Quality of Life
The Ruidoso Valley, which encompasses the communities of Ruidoso, Ruidoso Downs and Alto, and Lincoln
County offer residents a low congestion, low crime, a high country, natural beauty lifestyle. As a desirable and
frequented resort area, many full time residents of our community have moved here to enjoy the lifestyle in their
working years rather than putting off the move which occurs more typically in retirement.
Lincoln County utility providers offer both telecommuters and businesses a variety of broadband and cellular
service options including 3G and 4G coverage which are comparable to those available in larger metropolitan
areas. Lincoln County is an ideal location for small businesses to service a regional area.
Eastern New Mexico University's Ruidoso Campus, located in the center of Ruidoso, offers two-year degree
programs in a variety of areas of professional studies. Additionally, the campus offers robust adult continuing
education programs to round-out their traditional curricula. Future ENMU plans, currently in progress, include the
development and construction of a residential campus on Airport Rd in Alto, New Mexico just north of Ruidoso.
Lincoln County is easily accessible via New Mexico State Highways 380, 54 and 70. Additionally Sierra Blanca
Regional Airport provides access via the skies. Regularly scheduled airlines service is available from Roswell to
Lincoln County's east, El Paso to the south and Albuquerque to the north.
